A few weeks before the start of the 2023-2024 NCAA women’s basketball season, our friends at Zero-G reached out to see if we had the time and bandwidth to create an opening video for the University of Washington women’s basketball team. One of our core strengths is managing quick-turn projects at a high level, so we eagerly accepted the challenge and started discussions with their chief of staff. Given the tight timeline, we made sure to get the creative brief and all necessary assets before beginning any editing. We worked closely with the chief of staff, who was in constant communication with the head coach and players—all heavily involved in the process. They quickly provided us with a basic creative brief, some music ideas, and a drive full of footage from a recent marketing shoot and last season’s highlights.

Understanding the urgency, we prioritized the open video to ensure it was ready for the first game. After that, we focused on developing the supporting ribbons and screens to enhance the arena atmosphere during the opener. Within a week, we had a first round ready and quickly added the finishing touches thereafter. We finalized all the LED ribbons and supporting boards in time for the season opener.

Handling extremely tight deadlines is second nature for us at BIG Creative. We approach these projects with a clear mind and a strong vision, executing them at a high level to meet our clients’ needs. This project for the University of Washington women’s basketball team was no exception, and we were thrilled to help bring more attention to a sport that has burst onto the national scene this year.
